Responsive Session 11

Today was apparently the last Responsive session (I didn't think this was so as we have barely begun on our final project assignment, that being the Project report itself, and I figured we would have one or two more sessions after Easter so that our lectures could guide us through it), I still can't believe how much time had passed. Aside from all the rushing however, I am pleased that Anna and I are making good progress on our project, we will most definitely be able to finish it up before the deadline itself.

I followed a similar template to the previous pitch boards, while trying to add in more details and content so that it would look more finished and impressive to our peers. I did feel that this was a much more productive session as we received considerably helpful feedback that will aid us when it comes to putting the finishing touches on our concept before its submission (We were definitely quite unsure about the text, but it would appear that no one has an issue with the same table surface used for each slide or the compositions for each slide).

In my haste, I had forgotten to number the pages as well as write out an explanation saying that one of the boards was done merely for the critique session and not for the submission itself. As expected, that board was accidentally attacked for how text heavy it was, and unfortunately it did not seem to do its job as many once again brought up questions that were already answered in it.

Overall, we will once again take some of these comments (The more aesthetic ones at least) into consideration as we continue finishing up what we have.

Near the end of the class, we were then briefed on how everything should be submitted by the end of this module, with the deadline being right after the Easter break (This is probably one of those times where I am thankful that I actually decided to stay for the holiday instead of heading back to Singapore), while I think I have managed to get quite a bit done at this point, I still fear that I will end up rushing through the remaining work I need to get done.

Submission for Assessment Briefing:
  • 5 Individual Briefs and 1 Collaborative Brief
  • What do you produce and what do you propose
  • Project Report, comes in as a PDF
  • Summarise each brief in a board (Show the development work)
  • What I learnt from each brief (Eg, screw ups, not all briefs have to be a success story)
  • 23rd April, at 1pm in Room 136
  • Things to submit in disc
    - Summative Evaluation (Last post)
    - Project Report (PDF)
    - Individual boards for collaborative Brief (PDF, shows what YOU DID, development stuff)
    - A PDF archive document of your blog posts for OUAN
    - Any other work submitted on disk should be placed in a folder labeled with the module code and your name
Overall, this collaborative project has been fairly enjoyable, Anna has been wonderfully understanding and accommodating throughout this experience, seeing that we are both in the same course, we both had to deal with the same workload and deadlines, and understood when the other needed extra time to get something done. And as written in the contract, Anna has done a wonderful job when it came to the brief and report analysing, as well as efficiently applying her experience to our work when it comes to more traditional methods of art and design. I would be more than happy to work with her again in the future.

Next/Last Course of Action for Collaborative Project:
  • Polish Up
  • Try making little Animations as Supporting Items
  • Submit (By 31st March, the Tuesday after)
